Landscapes and Abstracts Play Together

This year I worked in two directions; one was landscapes and the other flat color abstractions. These two forms were complimentary - using color and value to present an interpretation of a real landscape, and also the removal of trees, sky, and ground to explore what I can convey without any objects at all. What can I explore using just the pure shapes of colors in different saturations and values laid next to each other? These two bodies of work seem distinct, but they were painted at the same time and informed one another.
